CAA and FAA certified aviation safety technology - built from James' accident by his mother, Louisa Patterson, and funding the Foundation ever since.
After the 2015 helicopter accident that took James' life, the Transport Accident Investigation Commission was unable to determine a primary cause - stating that had the aircraft been fitted with a cockpit video recording device, some answers may have been found.
James' mother, Louisa "Choppy" Patterson - an aviation veteran of over 45 years and founder of Over The Top Helicopters in Queenstown - developed Eye in the Sky NZ in direct response to that finding. The device is proudly designed and manufactured in New Zealand.
100% of sale proceeds go to the James PG Foundation.
Most charitable foundations rely entirely on external donations or grants. The James PG Foundation is different. Eye in the Sky NZ provides a sustainable commercial income stream that is directly tied to the Foundation's mission - meaning the better the technology does, the more impact the Foundation can deliver. And every sale is a direct act of turning James' accident into something that makes aviation safer for everyone.
Every device installed improves pilot training, helps diagnose intermittent engineering faults, and provides answers when accidents occur.
Sale proceeds fund the Foundation automatically. No fundraising cycles. No grant dependency. Just aviation safety paying for aviation opportunity.
The device exists because of what happened to James. Louisa built it so that other families would have answers, and other pilots would come home safely.
Available in Black or Aviation Orange. Approved for multiple helicopter types. Every purchase directly supports the James PG Foundation's work with young New Zealanders. Contact Eye in the Sky NZ directly to order or enquire about installation.
